Insight Inbox
Follow these steps to use the Chief Insight Inbox.
Organize Insights
- Access your Insight Inbox, which functions like an email inbox.
- Insights are categorized into three sections:
- New Insights: Recently added insights.
- Assigned Insights: Insights assigned to specific team members.
- Archived Insights: Insights that have been stored for reference.
Reassign Insights
- Select an insight from the inbox to reassign it to another team member.
- If you're part of multiple teams, you can assign the insight to yourself on a different team.
Filter Insights
Use inbox filters for a streamlined view of relevant insights. You can sort insights by various criteria:
- Creation date or custom date ranges.
- Read/unread status.
Chief Chat
Follow these steps to maximize your experience with Chief Chat and its settings.
Access Insights with Chief Chat
- Open Chief Chat to explore insights from your inbox.
- Click on a specific insight to view detailed information. Chief will automatically provide data, such as deviations in historical averages or other relevant metrics.
- Ask follow-up questions or change topics by entering queries like "top 10 deals." Chief will retrieve CRM-connected data and display results.
Connect Data Sources
- Navigate to the settings section to add data sources.
- Select from over 200 available integrations, including HR systems, ATS, accounting, CRM, and marketing automation tools.
- Assign integration ownership if required by selecting a tool and designating an owner.
Manage Organization Preferences
- Update the company name under organization preferences.
- Add or remove admins and invite team members.
- Create teams, assign managers, and edit team details such as names and members.
Configure Notification Settings
- Customize notifications for tasks, insights, and reminders.
- Choose delivery methods (e.g., immediate email or scheduled notifications).
- Set recurring dates and times for specific alerts as needed.
Chief Slack App
Follow these steps to make the most of the Chief Slack integration for efficient insights and reporting.
Get Started with Chief in Slack
- Open Slack and use Command + K to search for the Chief application in the search bar.
- Select Chief to begin chatting. You’ll see a history of previous conversations and threads with Chief.
Give Feedback with Emoji Actions
- Navigate to the About tab to view the emoji action legend:
- 👍 Thumbs Up: Positive feedback.
- 🤔 Thinking Emoji: Neutral feedback.
- 👎 Thumbs Down: Negative feedback.
- ❓ Question Mark Emoji: Request an explanation of how Chief generated its response.
- ⏰ Clock Emoji: Schedule recurring reports (e.g., every Monday at 9 a.m.).
- 🎟️ Ticket Emoji: Request a follow-up in the web app.
- 🔢 1234 Emoji: Download a CSV file of the data.
Run Commands with Chief
- Start a new chat with Chief by entering a query, such as "Top 10 sales deals."
- Wait for Chief to process and return results, such as deal names and sizes (data may be obfuscated for privacy).
Context Library
Use the Context Library to provide Chief with richer context for more accurate insights and seamless workflows.
Accessing the Context Library
- Locate the Context Library at the bottom left of your screen, above the exit/logout button.
- The library is organized into three sections:
- Company: View company-wide metrics and details.
- Team: Access team-specific profiles and metrics.
- Members: Explore individual profiles and metrics for team members.
Managing Metrics and Context
- Click on a team member or yourself to view individual metrics and profiles.
- In the company section, review all metrics tracked by Chief:
- Metrics marked with the Chief logo are inferred; you can verify or flag them as incorrect.
- Rename metrics if needed to align with your company’s naming conventions.
Adding and Editing Context
- Enrich Chief's understanding by adding new sections or details to the library.
- Delete or edit existing information as necessary to ensure accuracy and relevance.
